Technical Development

From “Quality Control” to “Control Management”

The occurrence of defects in the manufacturing process not only affects delivery schedules and costs but also undermines customer trust.
To ensure reliability, under the banner of “OGI Initiative 1: Technical Development,” we tackle this issue head-on.

In the development of pipe processing technology, we have introduced servo-driven pipe bending machines and visualized the setting of processing conditions. Instead of relying on feedback from defect occurrence to the manufacturing process, we have materialized the detection of defects from errors in the control system.

By setting processing conditions tailored to each pipe processing, such as material and thickness, it becomes possible to prevent defects from occurring in advance.
Furthermore, by storing pipe processing data for each product, traceability in case of trouble has been made possible.

Through such initiatives, we have achieved the process improvement of addressing challenges without relying solely on the experience and information of operators for analyzing the mechanism of defect occurrence.
